While we have subsequently delivered numerous hybrid vessels, the HST Ella represented a particularly significant milestone as one of the first hybrid crew transfer vessels to enter the market. The introduction of new hybrid propulsion systems presented a range of technical design challenges, and EMS was instrumental in the vessel’s success by delivering a comprehensive mechanical and domestic systems design package, which included detailed 2D schematics and a 3D routing model.
Our team effectively addressed complex engineering issues, such as the development of a vessel wide glycol cooling system for the electrical equipment. Our proactive involvement enabled the project team to thoroughly review and refine the systems design prior to construction, ensuring seamless integration during the build phase and full alignment with the client’s operational requirements.
To date, we have delivered mechanical systems packages for more than a dozen crew transfer vessels, many of which feature advanced hybrid technologies. This record underscores our ongoing commitment to sustainable engineering and innovation within the maritime sector.
